Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome to the June edition of Tiny Tree Nursery Leeds Newsletter, which is full of exciting news and includes details of our forthcoming events.
Holiday Club
Bookings are now being taken for our next Holiday Club, which will run from Monday 25th July until Friday 2nd September. If you would like to reserve a place for your child, or would like more details, please speak with Jay at the office.
Staff Member of the Month Award
Congratulations to Niamh, who has been awarded ‘Staff Member of the Month’ for settling in well and creating amazing activities for the children.
Planning and Activities
Throughout the month of June our Preschool children, who are set to go to school in September, will be taking part in lots of role playing activities, to help them prepare for their next journey. Additionally, we will be preparing for our graduation by taking special photos and creating decorations for the big day.
Elsewhere in the nursery, we will look at word repetition through stories and rhymes. This will help the children to gain new language. Our area of development for this term is expressive arts and design so we will be implementing lots of activities to help support this in all rooms.
Our focus colour for the month of June is Yellow and our focus country is Sweden.
If you would like to get involved in our focus country celebrations, please speak to your child’s key person.
Bank Holiday
Please note we will be closed for the Bank holidays on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd June and we will re-open on Monday 6th June, at the usual time of 7.30am.
Graduation & Family Fun Day
We are looking forward to holding our annual Preschool Graduation and Fun Day on Saturday 2nd July. The Graduation ceremony will be held from 10am and will be just for our Preschool school leavers and their families. We will then open up the nursery at 11am to all, for our family fun day. To help cover the costs of the day we ask that all attending families purchase tickets in advance at the office.
Parent Zone
All parents are able to access our online app to receive daily information as well as observations, photos and invoices. If you are not signed up to Parent Zone, please let us know at the office so we can send you an activation link.
Personal Property
As a very busy setting we ask that any personal property belonging to children is clearly labelled with their full names to avoid mix ups. We also ask that any toys from home are not brought into nursery to avoid them becoming lost or broken. Additionally, for safety reasons, we ask that children do not wear jewellery such as necklaces or bracelets or large earrings. These items, if worn, will be removed and sent home to ensure safety measures are maintained.

Activity of the Month
Using clothes pegs encourage your child to clip them onto surfaces. This could be the edge of a container or clipped to a sheet of paper. You could write numbers on each piece of paper or tub so your child can try and find the correct number of pegs to clip on.
This is a great activity for fine motor skills and will help to boost concentration skills also.
