Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to the December edition of our Newsletter, which is full of exciting news and includes details on our forthcoming events.
Ofsted
As many of you will be aware, we were recently inspected by Ofsted. Although we presented our everyday high standards of education and care, we were awarded an outcome of “Good”, which is actually a great result, however, we are disappointed as there was no credible reason/s for the decision made.
We believe the quality of care and education we offer is outstanding, therefore we have appealed the decision and filed an official complaint to Ofsted in hope of a re-inspection. Unfortunately, Ofsted have an intransitory approach, but we can but hope.
If you would like to discuss this further, please come and speak to us at the office where we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Holiday Club
Bookings are now being taken for our next Holiday Club, which will run from Monday 19th until Friday 23rd December. If you would like to reserve a place for your child, or would like more details, please speak with Jay at the office.
Weather Changes
Now the weather is getting colder, please would you ensure your child has appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear with them for each session, as we enjoy exploring the outdoors in all weathers.
Please also label all items with your child’s name as unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for any loss.
Staff Member of the Month Award
Congratulations to Chloe D who has been awarded ‘Staff Member of the Month’ for being supportive and helpful.
Invoices
Now we have our system fully set up, we are able to electronically email invoices. These invoices will be forwarded to the bill payer’s email address, so please ensure we have your correct details at all times.
For now, there will still be a paper copy available in your child’s room, but we will be phasing this out shortly.
All invoices for December have now been sent out, both in paper format and electronically. If you have not received your invoice, please contact the office. Please be reminded that nursery fees are payable in advance. If you have any queries about this, please speak with Jay or Jess in the office.
Planning and Activities
Throughout the month of December we will be welcoming in the season of winter.
We will talk about what we may need to wear during the winter season to keep us warm and we will keep an eye on the skies for any sign of snow. Our Pre-school children are currently working on a special surprise, to be revealed on ParentZone at a later date, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Our focus country for December is England and we will have a traditional Christmas lunch and a special visit from Santa on Friday 16th December 2023, so please remember to put on your festive jumpers.
If you would like to get involved in our focus country celebrations, please speak to your child’s key person.
Food from Home
Please could all parents refrain from bringing in any food from home as we have some severe food allergies. We are also a nut free setting. This is important to keep all children safe from harm.
Personal Belongings
We ask that any personal toys from home are not brought into nursery as these items are at risk of being lost or damaged. Please clearly label any comforters.
Children’s Absences
Please would you let us know at your earliest convenience if your child will not be attending as a result of holidays, illness or for any other reason. Please also note that full fees are payable for all periods of absence.
