Dear Parents/Carers,
Welcome to the July edition of our Newsletter, which is full of exciting news and includes details on forthcoming events.
Partnership with Parents
Summer Holiday Club
Bookings are now being taken for Holiday Club, which runs from Monday 25th July until Friday 2nd September. Please note that nursery will be closed on the bank holiday, Monday 29th August. Children can attend our Club regardless of the school they attend; so if you have older children and would like further details, please call in to the office.
Weather Changes
With the weather becoming warmer, please would you provide a sun hat; nursery will provide sun cream, which is Asda’s own, sun protection factor 50. Should you wish to use a different brand, please provide an unopened bottle, labelled with your child’s name to keep here at nursery.
We also ask that you apply sun cream, when necessary, prior to your child attending their nursery session. We are obligated by our regulator to ensure all children wear sun cream whilst playing outdoors, therefore your understanding and help with this important issue is very much appreciated.
Out of School Care
We have spaces available in our Out of School Club, which runs daily during the school term from 7.30am until drop off and from pick up until 6pm. The schools we currently serve are Blackshaw Lane, Crompton Primary and St Joseph’s. Please call in to the office for further information.
School Leavers
If your child is leaving to transition to school in September, please be aware that you will need to provide the nursery with 4 weeks’ written notice. Our email address is: [email protected].
Polite Reminders – Fees and Mobile Phones
Please be reminded that nursery fees are due in advance. If you have any queries about this, please speak to Kirsty or Natalie in the office.
Please also be reminded that mobile phones should not be used whilst waiting to collect your child, and that you should arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the end of your nursery session, to allow sufficient time for collection and handover. Our regulator, Ofsted, regards the use of mobile phones as a child safeguarding issue and as such your help in this regard is very much appreciated.
Free Entitlement
Please note that the grant will not run between Monday 25th July and 2nd September and that full fees will therefore apply during this time. The autumn grant will begin on Monday 5th September and run until Friday 21st October 2022.
Dates for Your Diary
Focus Country
For July our Focus Country is America. We look forward to learning about this country’s culture, traditions and national cuisine. Please encourage your child to dress in Red, White and Blue, the colours of the American flag on Tuesday 5th July. We look forward to celebrating American Independence Day, learning about American culture and tasting some traditional specialties during afternoon tea!
Graduation
On Saturday, 16th July we will hold our annual Graduation Ceremony. If your child is graduating this year, please have them ready at nursery for 10.15am. Tickets are now available from the office at £2.00 per person per ticket.
Planning and Activities – Eid al-Adha 11th – 13th July
For July we will learn about Eid al-Adha, which means ‘Eid of sacrifice.’ During this time, the children will focus on removing negative emotions and enhancing the positive, using different age appropriate activities to choose from. Photos of these activities will be displayed on our Facebook page.
Staff News
Staff Training
During June staff have refreshed their knowledge on behaviour management and on how to support children effectively. Kirsty, Becky & Jenefa attended a Transition open day and liaised with local schools to ensure a smooth transition into school for our Preschool children.
Staff Member of the Month
In June, Jane was awarded ‘Staff Member of the Month’ for her superb support to the children, as voted by parents. Please continue to make your nominations by using the nomination slips, located at the front entrance. Alternatively, you can ask your child’s key person for one.
Owl Competition
The June winners of our Owl Competition was Main House for their excellent teamwork. Well done for achieving the most WOW moments! Ashleigh was awarded The Golden Owl for her support in assisting our apprentices through their qualifications.
