Welcome to the September edition of our Newsletter, which is full of exciting news and includes details of our forthcoming events.
Welcome
As a new term is upon us, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all our new families joining us, as well as welcome back all our term-time families, who have been off for the summer. We hope everyone is excited for the upcoming term and ready to learn.
Holiday Club
Bookings are now being taken for our next Holiday Club, which will run from Monday 31st October until Friday 4th November. If you would like to reserve a place for your child or would like more details, please speak with Jay at the office.
Invoices
All invoices for September 2022 have now been sent out. If you have not received your invoice, please contact the office. Please be reminded that nursery fees are payable in advance. If you have any queries about this please speak with Jay or Jess in the office.
Staff Member of the Month Award
Thank you to all the staff who have voted for me (Jay) as ‘Staff Member of the Month’ for ‘my continuous support.’
We would also like to congratulate Jess who has begun a new role of Assistant Deputy Manager. Jess will continue to support Jay as well as Kim upon her return from maternity leave.
Planning and Activities
Throughout the month of September, we will arrange lots of small group activities to help support new children joining the nursery. This will promote social interaction, boost self-confidence and awareness as well as help in developing friendships.
We will also start to explore changes in seasons we can expect to see in the upcoming weeks, as we transition into autumn.
Our focus colour for the month of September is Grey and our focus country is Vietnam.
If you would like to get involved in our focus country celebrations, please speak to your child’s key person.
ParentZone
All parents can access our online app to receive daily information, as well as observations, photos and invoices. If you are not signed up to ParentZone, please let us know at the office so we can send you an activation link.
Dates for your Diary
Focus Country – Vietnam – Friday 2nd September 2022. Please join us as we immerse ourselves in the rich culture of Vietnam and celebrate Vietnamese Independence Day.
Colour of the Month – Grey – Wednesday 14th September 2022. Please join in with us by wearing something Grey on this date.
Winter Menu
Our chefs, Pam & Danelle, have been hard at work crafting a new winter menu, full of cosy warm meals for the children to enjoy. Keep an eye out for this menu, which will be available to view in all rooms as well as on ParentZone. We have also decided to share some recipes from our new menu with you all.
These will be featured on the monthly newsletter so that you can maybe cook them at home and encourage your child to try new foods.
Recipe of the Month
Tiny Tree Pasta
Ingredients:
• 3 tsp. olive oil
• 175g sausages
• 150g fusilli pasta
• 150g broccoli, florets trimmed
• 75g 50% less fat garlic and herb soft cheese
• 1½ tbsp. lemon juice
• 125g cherry tomatoes, halved
Method:
Heat 2 tsp. oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the sausages according to instructions.
Meanwhile, bring a large pan of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta to the pack instructions, adding the broccoli for the last 2 minutes. Drain and return to the pan.
Whisk the soft cheese with the lemon juice and 1 tsp. oil to combine; stir through the pasta and broccoli. Gently toss through the sausages and cherry tomatoes.
